To accelerate the digitalization of our operations and the integration of new technologies, Elia has set up a dedicated development program for technicians who want to contribute to the challenges of the rapidly evolving energy sector. This program offers you the opportunity to participate in a wide range of maintenance and development activities for the high-voltage grid management systems of tomorrow.

As a Digital Electrical Technician, you will follow an individual guidance program spread over several years.

During the first three years, you will work intensively with our technical teams to gain practical experience. Throughout these three years, the focus is on developing a broad understanding of the high-voltage world and acquiring specialist skills related to our protection systems (Secondary Systems) through a mix of theoretical training and hands-on experience. You will be responsible for testing and implementing control and protection systems for Elia's infrastructure – the brain behind our grid. These systems are highly digitalized and require work comparable to industrial programming. As a member of our maintenance team, you will identify malfunctions in our system and propose appropriate solutions.

At the end of this program, you will be part of a specialized Centralized Commissioning team that performs specific tasks, such as adjustments, incident analysis, and the development of new standards. This team also develops the working methods of the future to support the integration of new technologies.

Your Profile

• You have a bachelor's degree or technical education in electricity, electronics, automation, electromechanics, or comparable experience.
• You are a team player and ready for a tailor-made challenge.
• Taking responsibility comes naturally to you.
• You are eager to learn and enjoy sharing knowledge with colleagues.
• Efficiency and accuracy are your strongest points.
• You feel comfortable in a digital work environment where basic skills in network management and creating, managing, and updating digital information are required.
• You have experience with administrative software such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and are willing to learn technical software for specific applications.
• You have a category B driving license and are prepared to travel across Belgium to our various installations. Administrative tasks can be performed at different locations.
• Knowledge of English is a plus, or you are willing to learn it.
