Your work location: Brussels
Within the Legal team of 20 colleagues, active in law, ethics and GDPR for Equans Belux.
Zoom on the job:- act as the main point of contact for all legal and ethical matters within BU Infra (one of the five BUs of Equans Belux)
- be part of the BU Infra management team and provide strategic and decision-making support
- supervise and develop a team of three legal counsels
- identify and anticipate legal risks and opportunities in tendering and project execution
- analyse, negotiate and adapt complex contracts (public procurement, DBFMO, EPC, subcontracting…)
- prepare, review and draft site correspondence and claims together with contract managers
- prevent and manage disputes in collaboration with external lawyers
- provide practical legal advice aligned with business needs
- visit project sites regularly to understand activities and build trust with teams
- challenge risk management and contractual feasibility of projects
- propose pragmatic solutions to develop business with manageable risks
- train and develop legal knowledge within internal teams
- participate in cross-functional projects and support colleagues where needed
Profile Come as you are, ideally with:- master’s degree in law
- at least 10 years of experience in a company or law firm
- expertise in public procurement (tendering and execution) is essential
- experience in an industrial or multi-technical environment is a plus
- strong analytical and negotiation skills for complex contracts
- ability to explain and train legal principles clearly
- team spirit, customer focus, flexibility and pragmatism
- accuracy and a hands-on approach
- excellent command of Dutch (spoken and written), good knowledge of French and English
