Within this group, EBTS (European Breakdown Tire Service) is a leading European organization that coordinates 24/7 breakdown and tire assistance for trucks and trailers. Through a network of operational platforms and partners, EBTS ensures that downtime is kept to a minimum and SLAs with customers are consistently met.
Following its acquisition by AXA Partners, EBTS is now part of the Truck & Trailer Division, with a strong European scope and close cooperation between teams in Belgium, France, and other European countries. This growth and professionalization bring with them increasing legal and compliance complexity. For this reason, Motmans & Partners is recruiting a Legal & Compliance Specialist for their client AXA Partners – EBTS, based in Hasselt.
Function
As a Legal & Compliance Specialist, you will be part of the Legal & Compliance team within the Truck & Trailer Division and report to the Secretary General. You will support the business in a wide range of legal and compliance issues in an international context.
Your tasks will include:
Reviewing, drafting, and following up on commercial and operational contracts with customers and partners in several European countries.
Providing legal support to business teams and acting as a sparring partner on commercial and strategic issues.
Monitoring European and Belgian legislation and translating changes into practice.
Helping to coordinate and monitor existing compliance frameworks (including reporting, due diligence, governance).
Collaborating with internal stakeholders (including legal teams in other countries, compliance, business) and external lawyers where necessary.
Contributing to a pragmatic, solution-oriented legal approach within a rapidly evolving organization.
You will mainly work from Hasselt, with three days at the office and two days working from home, and will have frequent contact with international stakeholders via digital meetings.
Profile
You have 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in legal and/or compliance, preferably in an international or regulated context.
You have a master's degree in law, with a strong interest in economic and commercial law.
Experience with the insurance regulatory framework is a strong asset, but not an absolute requirement.
You communicate clearly and professionally, even on complex matters, and combine legal accuracy with commercial acumen.
You can work independently, set priorities, and adapt quickly in a changing environment.
Languages: fluent Dutch and English are a must; French is a significant plus.
