RPG Developer (M/F)

The application development team manages a wide range of applications to support the mission of the unemployment fund.

Most of the applications were developed in RPG on AS400. These applications must be constantly adapted to new regulations. In addition, we have launched a multi-year project to rewrite them in a Red Hat OpenShift environment, in which the RPG developer will also work on integrating new services.

Job Description

• Work closely with analysts.
• Maintain existing applications and ensure compliance with new regulations.
• Translate specifications into a technical analysis, taking into account existing systems (both legacy and new platforms).
• Review and analyze change requests.
• Carry out certain periodic IT tasks.
• Collaborate within a team of developers.
• Apply your excellent knowledge and experience in quality development methods.

Profile

• Several years of proven experience in comparable roles.
• Strong knowledge of RPG and solid development experience in RPG (RPG IV, RPG ILE, and RPG ILE free format).
• Good knowledge of SQL.
• Knowledge of DB2.
• Knowledge of IBM Power platform (i Series) is an asset.
• Knowledge of CL is an asset.
• Knowledge of UML and BPMN is an asset.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Team player, while also able to work independently.
• Assertive and able to distinguish between what is essential and what is secondary.
• Flexible in planning management, while remaining attentive to agreed deadlines.
• Motivated.
• View change as an essential part of an organization.
• Very good knowledge of one national language( Dutch, French) and a good understanding of the other. Knowledge of English is an asset.
