Data Engineer Senior (Synapse)

One of our clients in the Insurance sector is looking for a Senior Data Engineer with a strong knowledge in development with Synapse.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement medium to large-scale features (end-to-end), either within a specific domain or across domains.
• Develop and maintain solutions using Azure Synapse and SAS, depending on project requirements.
• Apply engineering standards and best practices related to performance, security, scalability, and DevSecOps.
• Monitor and ensure stability, continuity, and performance of production systems; take ownership of operations and incident handling, including on-call duties when required.
• Design and deliver systems with a focus on automation, integration, testing, and reliability, aligned with a DevOps approach.
• Create proofs of concept and develop conceptual models for new problem domains.
• Define infrastructure requirements and optimize system integration with infrastructure components.
• Conduct code reviews, ensuring alignment with development standards and functional and non-functional requirements.
• Coordinate deployments across different environments, ensuring stability and correctness.
• Identify and communicate risks and unknowns, keeping work aligned with strategic goals.
• Maintain and validate technical documentation.
• Coach and support associates and engineers, encouraging teamwork and guiding newcomers.
• Take an active role in improving team processes and workflows.
• Communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders, managing dependencies and risks.
• Lead by example in customer-centric thinking, solution-orientation, and critical analysis.

Profile:

• 3 to 8 years of relevant professional experience.
• At least 3 years of experience with Azure Synapse.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with SAS.

Technical Skills:

• Strong command of data engineering principles.
• Proven experience with Azure Synapse and SAS technologies.
• Solid understanding of DevOps and DevSecOps practices.
• Ability to design secure, scalable, and reliable systems.
• Familiar with automation, testing frameworks, and infrastructure integration.
