About the Opportunity

Domani Group is supporting a major telecommunications player in the delivery of a client-facing, AI-based chatbot solution with direct impact on customer experience.

To strengthen this strategic initiative, we are looking for an experienced Chatbot Technical Lead (Freelance) who will act as the technical authority for the solution. The role sits under a Programme Manager focused on governance and coordination but without a technical background , making this position critical to ensure technical robustness, risk control, and delivery success.

The chatbot is customer-exposed and AI-driven , which places strong emphasis on solution quality, governance, and stakeholder alignment in a large enterprise environment.

Mission Context

The client is developing an AI-driven chatbot with direct customer impact. Due to the sensitivity of AI usage and customer-facing exposure, internal approval has been complex and required strong technical justification :

  • Internal chatbot program already launched
  • Direct interaction with end customers (client-facing)
  • Programme Manager in place, but non-technical
  • Strong governance and approval constraints due to AI usage and customer exposure

Role Description

As Chatbot Technical Lead, you will take ownership of the technical direction, coordination, and oversight of a client-facing chatbot solution .

You will act as the key interface between business stakeholders, technical teams, and governance bodies, ensuring that business and customer experience requirements are translated into secure, scalable, and reliable technical solutions .

This role requires a senior profile comfortable making technical decisions for a customer-exposed AI solution in a complex, enterprise context.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Leadership & Solution Ownership

  • Act as the technical lead and authority for a client-facing chatbot
  • Define, validate, and oversee technical architecture and implementation choices
  • Ensure performance, stability, scalability, and long-term maintainability

Business – Technology – Customer Bridge

  • Translate business and customer experience needs into clear technical requirements
  • Align expectations between business stakeholders and technical teams
  • Challenge requirements where technical, AI, or customer-facing risks are identified

Governance, Risk & Approval Support

  • Provide technical input to support internal approvals for a client-facing AI solution
  • Act as a technical control point to reduce reputational and operational risk
  • Support procurement and internal buyers with technical clarification and justification

Delivery & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and integrators
  • Ensure smooth collaboration across cross-functional teams
  • Support the Programme Manager with structured technical guidance and decision support

TECHNICAL & FUNCTIONAL SKILLS

  • Strong experience with chatbots, conversational AI, or digital customer interaction platforms
  • Solid understanding of AI-based solutions and enterprise system integration
  • Ability to operate vendor-agnostically and focus on functional outcomes

Nice to have:

Experience with platforms such as:

  • Sprinklr
  • Google Vertex AI
  • Contact center or conversational platforms

(Emphasis is on functional and architectural understanding rather than tool expertise)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience as a Technical Lead, Solution Architect, or similar role
  • Experience delivering client-facing digital or AI solutions
  • Strong exposure to enterprise governance and stakeholder management
  • Comfortable working under non-technical program leadership
  • Freelance experience in large organizations is a strong advantage

  • Hybrid working model - ideally based In Belgium
  • On-site presence in Brussels: 2 days per week
  • Full-time engagement preferred
