Master Data Associate

Mission

The Master Data Office (MDO) defines and governs key enterprise data across the company. Through structured governance, standardized processes, and dedicated tools, our mission is to ensure the creation, maintenance, quality, delivery, and proper use of master data (Materials, Customers, Vendors, and related documents).

The team plays a key role in major transformation initiatives, including:

· The transition from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA starting in April

· The implementation of our new PLM system

· Various improvement programs impacting master data (e.g., customs and trade initiatives)

Currently, master data governance is managed through SAP MDG on SAP ECC. From April onward, operations will progressively shift to SAP S/4HANA, requiring adaptation of processes, controls, and governance practices.

Operational Master Data Management

As a SAP Master Data Associate, your daily responsibilities will include:

· Create, extend, and modify Master Data (Materials, Customers, Vendors, Documents) in SAP (S/4HANA environment mainly)

· Ensure correct parameterization according to business rules, governance standards, and system requirements

· Validate and control the consistency and completeness of internal master data requests

· Ensure compliance with defined data governance processes and approval workflows (MDG)

· Monitor and ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across systems

· Analyze root causes of data quality issues and propose corrective and preventive actions

· Launch, manage, and follow up on data enrichment or data cleansing initiatives within defined SLAs

· Maintain documentation of processes and data standards

· Ensure efficient and structured communication with business stakeholders

· Support and coach team members when required

· Contribute actively to continuous improvement of tools, governance, KPIs, and ways of working

S/4HANA Transition & Project Involvement

As part of the SAP S/4HANA implementation and other transformation projects, you will:

· Support the migration from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA (data preparation, cleansing, harmonization)

· Participate in data validation and cutover preparation

· Ensure data readiness and data accuracy before go-live

· Contribute to master data process redesign aligned with S/4HANA standards

· Identify impacts of system changes on master data governance and propose adaptations

· Support data mapping and harmonization activities between legacy and new systems

· Provide support to end-users for MDG and PLM processes

· Act as first-line support for Master Data and MDG-related questions

· Bring a strong “master data perspective” to cross-functional projects

Master Data & Governance

· Understanding of master data lifecycle management

· Knowledge of data governance principles

· Experience in data quality management and root cause analysis

· Familiarity with data cleansing and data enrichment processes

· Ability to work with structured workflows and approval processes

· Basic understanding of integration points between master data and transactional processes (Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Manufacturing)

What we value

SAP & Systems

· Good Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA (preferred)

· Knowledge of SAP ECC (MM, SD, FI master data structures)

· Experience with SAP MDG (Master Data Governance)

· Understanding of material master views and dependencies (MRP, purchasing, accounting, sales, etc.)

· Familiarity with data migration concepts and tools is a plus

· Knowledge of PLM systems is an asset

· Good command of Excel (data analysis, pivot tables, data validation)
