Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Data Center design engineer/manager to manage the complete lifecycle of data hall fit-out projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for liaising with clients to understand their requirements, managing external consultants, overseeing contractors, and ensuring all work is completed on time, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of data center infrastructure, building codes, safety regulations, and excellent communication and project management skills. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the electrical design process for data center projects, including power distribution, backup power systems (UPS and generators), lighting, and emergency systems as well as data hall fit-out, including but not limited to Rack, HAC (hot aisle containment), cable tray, grounding, ceeform, combined service drawings, etc. Liaise directly with clients to understand their requirements, gather specifications, and manage expectations. Coordinate with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical designs with overall project plans. Manage external consultants, providing clear direction and ensuring deliverables meet project requirements. Oversee the procurement and installation of all necessary equipment and materials. Manage contractors and subcontractors, ensuring work is completed on time, and to the highest quality standards. This includes regular site inspections, quality control checks, and proactive problem resolution. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during the design, construction and T&C process. Prepare and submit comprehensive progress reports to management and clients. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all project documentation. Stay up-to-date on the latest industry trends and technologies. Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures. Assist in the commissioning and handover of completed projects. Qualification Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field, a Master's degree is a plus. Professional institution registration or chartership, i.e. HKIE, IET, CBISE or equivalent is preferred but not essential. Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design, with a strong focus on data center or similar critical infrastructure projects. Experience with hall fit-out coordination is highly preferred. Proven experience managing client relationships and expectations. Experience managing external consultants and contractors. Hands-on experience with the design and installation of cable baskets, cable ladders, HACs, racks, and grounding systems. Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, and networking systems, as well as the regulations and compliance. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit or other relevant design software. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
