DEVPOLES-ONE is the newly created aerospace unit of DEVPOLES, tasked with developing lighter-than-air aeronautical multipurpose platforms. We're solving the fundamental engineering challenges to achieve airship commercial viability through our breakthrough patent-pending design that enables safe, efficient operations in variable meteorological conditions.

We're seeking creative aeronautical development experts based in Belgium, passionate about solving complex aeronautical challenges.

The Opportunity

This contract phase evaluates mutual fit while delivering the critical virtual prototype that validates our funded development path. Your virtual prototyping and CFD analysis determine technical feasibility and establish what gets built.

Core engineering deliverables

• Requirements & specifications document based on existing design and alternatives
• Conceptual design & geometry
• Structural and systems analysis
• 3D CAD model (CATIA V5/V6)
• Aerodynamic CFD Analysis (OpenFOAM)
• Technical documentation for scaled prototype development

When?

Interviewing immediately for June 2026 start. Position begins June 29th, 2026, requiring on-site work only at our Brussels development workspace.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's in Aeronautical/Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering (Master's or PhD preferred)
• 5-7+ years aeronautical engineering development experience
• CATIA V5/V6 proficiency (parametric surface modeling)
• OpenFOAM CFD experience (simulation setup, mesh generation, turbulence modeling)
• Strong aerodynamics fundamentals
• Technical English fluency

Preferred

• Low-speed aerodynamics or lighter-than-air vehicle experience
• EASA/FAA certification process knowledge
• ParaView post-processing expertise
• Proven experience in developing novel aerospace design concepts from requirements through prototype

Remuneration package

• €500-700/day (VAT exclusive)
• On-schedule delivery of requirements doc: +€2,500 (if delivered within agreed timeline with no major revisions needed)
• CFD analysis validation: +€5,000 (if initial aerodynamic predictions meet or exceed performance targets)
• CAD model approval: +€5,000 (if 3D model approved for prototype fabrication without structural redesign)

Security arrangements

• Comprehensive NDA and NCA before technical discussion
• Work conducted exclusively on company-provided workstations (no personal devices permitted)
• On-site work only (no remote)
• Portfolio use authorized after first publicly demonstrated flight only.
