PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to)
- Carry out routine checks, preventive and corrective maintenance on facility systems and utilities (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, cryo-distribution, compressed air, etc.)
- Rapidly intervene on technical breakdowns and propose immediate and long-term corrective actions.
- Supervise external vendors during interventions, ensuring HSE compliance and adherence to Cryoport SOPs.
- Follow up on Work Orders and CMMS system input in collaboration with the Facility Intern and stakeholders.
- Complete required documentation in compliance with GMP/GxP (real-time completion, traceability, good documentation practice).
- Manage spare part usage and small stock levels under supervision.
- Participate in commissioning, validation and qualification of new equipment.
- Ensure critical systems are monitored and alarms are handled (temperature, differential pressure, humidity, etc.).
- Contribute to the execution of technical protocols (equipment qualification, IQ/OQ, alarm test, calibration).
- Support technical preparation and logistics for audits and inspections.
- Apply the site's Health, Safety & Environmental procedures (lock-out/tag-out, PPE, chemical safety, etc.).
COMPETENCIES & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
- Has a basic understanding of electromechanics, HVAC, automation, or facility systems.
- Capable of identifying root causes and implementing effective technical solutions.
- Demonstrates strong autonomy during on-site interventions.
- Accurately completes forms, logs, and reports in English.
- Speaks basic English (min. B1), is native or fluent in French, and can communicate in spoken technical English with vendors.
- Works well with the Facility Intern, Facility Manager, and other stakeholders.
- Understands basic safety rules, chemical safety, and permit-to-work procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Electromechanics, Facility Management, Industrial Maintenance or equivalent by experience.
- Minimum 1–2 years' experience in technical role (internships included).
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or food sectors (GMP/GxP environments) is considered an asset.
- Hands-on experience working in clinical packaging and labeling is an asset.
- Proficient in computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Health, Safety, and Environmental knowledge is desirable.
- Frequently required to type, sit, stand, walk; occasionally lift/carry up to 20 Kg (with support). Occasionally required to push/roll heavy loaded devices (liquid nitrogen tanks, freezers, etc.)
