Product Management Expert – Product Transformation


Budget: 650€-750€

Mission Overview

We are looking for an experienced
Product Management Expert
to support a large-scale product transformation within a complex, regulated organisation operating critical infrastructure at national and European level.

You will act as an
embedded, trusted advisor
, supporting the operationalisation and adoption of a
Product Operating Model (POM)
across multiple business units. The focus is on
hands-on implementation
, coaching, and day-to-day enablement of product leaders and teams—not on standalone training or theoretical frameworks.

You will be fully embedded within the transformation program, working side-by-side with internal teams to ensure product management best practices are applied, adopted, and sustained over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Operating Model Implementation
  • Act as a sparring partner for senior management and business leadership on operational and strategic product topics.
  • Diagnose gaps between current product practices and the target Product Operating Model.
  • Lead pilot initiatives and organisational experiments to refine product structures, governance, and workflows.
  • Adapt and update elements of the Product Operating Model based on real-world observations.
  • Establish reporting cadences linking product execution to strategic objectives.
  • Embed practical tools, frameworks, and rituals into existing organisational routines.
  • Product Leadership Coaching & Enablement
  • Shadow Product Leaders (Directors, Managers, Product Owners) and provide real-time feedback.
  • Coach leaders on continuous product discovery, outcome-driven decision-making, and evidence-based prioritisation.
  • Co-design decision-making frameworks to improve clarity, maturity, and speed.
  • Support the translation of strategic objectives into actionable team-level goals.
  • Strengthen team engagement, psychological safety, and accountability.
  • Identify and resolve clarity gaps in roles and responsibilities across product and adjacent functions.
  • Design and implement tailored capability development plans.
  • Stakeholder Alignment
  • Serve as a sounding board for senior managers and product leadership on key product decisions.
  • Facilitate alignment workshops across business units, chapters, and transformation stakeholders.
  • Identify systemic blockers to the transformation and escalate them when needed.
  • Support resolution of organisational, structural, and governance challenges.
  • Product Management Centre of Excellence
  • Support the incubation of a Product Management Centre of Excellence.
  • Formalise shared processes, methodologies, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Contribute to the design and execution of product upskilling tracks (peer learning, workshops, seminars).
  • Collaborate with internal learning, agile, and transformation teams to ensure long-term capability building.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Product Management Expertise: Strong mastery of discovery, delivery, prioritisation, and outcome-oriented product management.
  • Transformation Experience: Proven track record in multi-quarter product transformations with measurable adoption results.
  • Coaching & Influence: Ability to build trust with senior leaders, navigate resistance, and drive accountability.
  • Facilitation & Communication: Ability to lead workshops that result in decisions, alignment, and action.
  • Hands-On Mindset: Leads by example through shadowing, co-creation, and practical execution.
  • Structured Thinking: Brings clarity to ambiguity and designs lightweight, sustainable frameworks.
  • Regulated Environment Fluency: Comfortable operating in compliance-heavy, data-intensive, and engineering-driven contexts.

Experience & Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience in product management, product leadership, or product organisation transformation.
  • Strong experience embedding product discovery practices and shifting organisations from feature-driven to outcome-driven models.
  • Proven experience working in regulated and data-intensive environments.
  • Ability to operate effectively in evolving organisational structures.
  • Fluent in English and French or Dutch (spoken and written).

Eligibility (Non-EU Candidates)

  • Valid work permit allowing employment in Belgium.
  • Valid Belgian residence permit.
