This is a home-based position with regular travel to Brussels and London. Help shape the sustainable future of one of the world’s most critical raw materials. We’re looking for a motivated and collaborative Public Affairs and Communications Officer to join our dynamic team. You’ll play a central role in advancing CI’s communications and public affairs strategy across Europe and internationally. From political analysis and policy briefings to stakeholder engagement and event delivery, you’ll help position CI as a trusted voice on critical raw materials and sustainability. Supporting the Heads of Government and Public Affairs and Communications in achieving CI’s global objectives. Drafting high-quality content for campaigns, briefings, and policy papers. Monitoring and analysing EU and global policy developments related to cobalt and critical minerals. Enhancing CI’s visibility through strategic content and proactive engagement. We’re looking for someone who combines political insight, communication skill, and organisational flair. A strong understanding of EU and international policymaking, ideally around sustainability, critical raw materials, or industrial policy. ~2–4 years’ experience in public affairs, policy, or communications—preferably in a consultancy, association, or policy environment. ~ Experience in event planning, digital content creation, and stakeholder engagement. ~ A proactive, detail-oriented approach and confidence working across teams in a fast-paced environment. ~ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong written English (knowledge of French or Mandarin is a plus). University degree in political science, international relations, communications, law, economics, or related field.
