Regional Finance Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Regional Finance Manager to lead and oversee all financial operations across our European entities in Belgium and Norway as part of a Shared Services Finance Function. This role is critical in ensuring financial integrity, compliance, and performance across the region, while supporting business growth and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, cross-border financial expertise, and a proactive approach to financial management.

Responsibilities

• Financial Planning, Analysis & Reporting

• Lead the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes across Calian's Norwegian and Belgian entities.

• Consolidate financial results across the region and provide insightful variance analysis and commentary to senior leadership.
• Delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to the parent company.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to drive profitability, cost optimization, and operational efficiency.

• Leverage data analytics to enhance financial decision-making.

• Operational Finance & Business Support

• Provide finance and operational support to the current team and taking over finance responsibilities.

• Assist in establishing the finance shared services function across multiple jurisdictions.
• Partner with regional and global leadership to support strategic initiatives, investments, and business planning.
• Supporting pricing/costing and bid review in collaboration with bid pursuit teams.
• Support bids, including building financial models to help determine accurate pricing, costing, and project financials.

• Supporting other ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned.

• Compliance, Controls & Audit

• Ensure compliance with all local statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements in Belgium and Norway through a combination of internal capabilities and external service providers.

• Maintain and enhance internal controls and financial governance frameworks.

• Coordinate with external auditors and manage annual audits for each respective entity.

• Team Leadership & People Management

• Management of the regional finance teams.

• Set clear goals, conduct performance reviews, and support professional development of team members.

• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.

• Systems, Processes & Transformation

• Ensure alignment of finance practices and systems across the region.

• Drive standardization and automation of financial processes across entities including identification and implementation of tools/systems, including expense management, travel, credit card management, etc.
• Support ERP implementation or upgrades as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including regional or multi-country oversight.
• Team Development: Built a finance function in a multi-country, multi-currency environment with public company reporting responsibilities and deadlines.
• People Development: Emphasis on coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and local GAAPs (Belgium, Norway).
• Experience working in a multinational environment, preferably in services, or technology sectors. Previous government contracts experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills.
• Experience using XLedger, Odoo, ExactOnline is an asset.
• Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of Dutch, French or Norwegian is a plus.
