For our client we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Package Lead to oversee clean and black utilities systems for a major pharmaceutical construction project in Belgium.
This role requires expertise in mechanical systems design, installation, and commissioning within regulated pharmaceutical environments.
Function
Lead mechanical package design and execution for clean utilities (WFI, purified water, clean steam, HVAC)
Oversee black utilities systems (compressed air, nitrogen, vacuum, waste treatment)
Manage contractor coordination and ensure compliance with GMP regs
Review P&IDs, equipment specifications, and installation procedures
Coordinate with project management, process engineering, and quality
Ensure adherence to project timeline, budget, and quality standards
Lead commissioning, qualification, and validation activities
Interface with regulatory authorities and client representatives
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
8+ years experience in pharmaceutical/biotech facility construction
Strong knowledge of GMP and relevant standards
Experience with clean utilities design and commissioning
Previous package lead experience on large-scale pharma projects
Knowledge of Belgian building codes and permitting processes
Understanding of process validation and CSV requirements
Fluent in English; Dutch/French language skills preferred
