Project Based Health and Safety Manager

Company Description

Operating across Ireland, UK and Europe, Boven Group are a leading EHS Consultancy & EHS Recruitment Consultancy to our leading multinational client base. We are currently seeking an experienced project-based Health & Safety Manager (Contract Role) to work on a large scale Data Centre project located in Mons, Belgium.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all EHS matters and report issues to the Project Managers
• Review of Sub-Contractor project safety documentation
• Review and approve risk assessments and method statements for all works, and develop and implement appropriate controls
• Chair project EHS meetings
• Client liaison with all EHS matters
• Accident Management - work with project management to ensure a process is established which includes incident investigation, identification and implementation of all corrective actions and effective preventative programs
• Ensure the delivery of health and safety inductions for all employees or contractors
• Ensure that safety audits are carried out throughout the site in conjunction with the management team
• Keeping up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all Health and Safety legislation and any developments that affect the industry.
• Manage the Toolbox Schedule for the project including attendance records
• Attend and provide input at site meetings reporting on EHS risks, trends and recommendations
• Work closely with staff to ensure all employees receive a good standard of safety training relevant to their position in the company
• Give advice to site management on training requirements for each project
• Ensure EHS management systems for projects are implemented

Personal Profile

• Must hold a relevant Health and Safety qualification
• Minimum of 5-years’ Health and Safety Data Centre experience
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence safety
• Knowledge and experience with construction regulations and roles
• Must be a team player
• Experience managing a team of EHS Advisors
• Experience with a client facing role
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Package

The Package

• Contract hourly rate - €70/hr
• Travel package if required
• 17-4 rotation if required
