Maintenance Technician

Freelance Maintenance Technician Food & Beverage Manufacturing | Mechelen (Belgium) We are supporting a well-established Food & Beverage manufacturing site in Mechelen that is looking for an experienced freelance Maintenance Technician to support ongoing production and reliability activities. This is a hands-on role within a high-volume, hygiene-critical production environment. The Role As a freelance Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring maximum uptime of production equipment through preventive and corrective maintenance. Key responsibilities: Preventive and corrective maintenance on production and packaging lines Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical faults on industrial equipment Supporting breakdown interventions to minimise downtime Working closely with production and engineering teams Reporting interventions and maintenance actions clearly Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and safety standards Technical Background Strong electro-mechanical maintenance experience Good electrical fault-finding skills (sensors, motors, drives, PLC I/O) Mechanical experience with conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, pneumatics Experience in Food & Beverage or FMCG manufacturing is a strong advantage Ability to work independently in a production environment Requirements Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in an industrial setting Comfortable working in shift-based or flexible schedules (if required) Strong troubleshooting mindset and hands-on attitude Freelance / self-employed status (or willing to work freelance) Contract Details Freelance contract Location: Mechelen (on-site) Long-term potential depending on performance and project needs Competitive hourly rate, depending on experience
