General Characteristics and Purpose
Evaluates, selects, and applies engineering/scientific techniques, processes, and criteria, using judgment in order to make adaptations and modifications to existing products, in line with client needs and requirements.

Representative Activities

• Ensures correct translation of client demands into product specifications and modifications.
• Interprets, makes, and/or adapts technical drawings and blue prints.
• Calculates the technical feasibility of product adaptations and the impact on the production process and quality assurance.
• Executes risk analysis for (new) product modifications.
• Has direct contact with clients and sales to understand technical requirements and ensure correct customization of products.
• May supervise or coordinate the work of drafters, technicians or aides who assist in specific assignments, but focus is technical rather than managerial.
• Typically reports to an Engineering Manager.
