Blackfield Associates are currently partnered with an Engineering service provider to support their search for a Construction Safety Manager to join one of their pharmaceutical clients projects based in the Walloon Brabant region on an initial 12-month contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead strategies to identify, assess, and control construction-related EHS risks across major capital projects.
- Support preconstruction planning, including constructability reviews, permitting, project execution strategies, and contractor prequalification.
- Develop and approve essential safety documentation, including Construction Safety Plans and EHS management strategies.
- Monitor construction EHS performance through audits, inspections, safety meetings, and review of contractor plans and schedules.
- Coordinate closely with site teams to manage interface boundaries, emergency planning, and the safe handover of project responsibilities upon completion.
Experience and Skills Required:
- Strong hands-on experience as a Construction Manager or Construction EHS Manager.
- Proven track record managing construction safety in regulated environments, ideally in life sciences or similarly complex sectors.
- Demonstrated leadership in guiding contractor and project teams in applying high EHS standards and construction best practices.
- Solid understanding of regulatory and internal standards for construction safety and risk mitigation.
- Excellent coordination, communication, and leadership skills for managing multiple stakeholders and site interfaces.
