Construction Safety Manager

Blackfield Associates are currently partnered with an Engineering service provider to support their search for a Construction Safety Manager to join one of their pharmaceutical clients projects based in the Walloon Brabant region on an initial 12-month contract.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead strategies to identify, assess, and control construction-related EHS risks across major capital projects.
• Support preconstruction planning, including constructability reviews, permitting, project execution strategies, and contractor prequalification.
• Develop and approve essential safety documentation, including Construction Safety Plans and EHS management strategies.
• Monitor construction EHS performance through audits, inspections, safety meetings, and review of contractor plans and schedules.
• Coordinate closely with site teams to manage interface boundaries, emergency planning, and the safe handover of project responsibilities upon completion.

Experience and Skills Required:

• Strong hands-on experience as a Construction Manager or Construction EHS Manager.
• Proven track record managing construction safety in regulated environments, ideally in life sciences or similarly complex sectors.
• Demonstrated leadership in guiding contractor and project teams in applying high EHS standards and construction best practices.
• Solid understanding of regulatory and internal standards for construction safety and risk mitigation.
• Excellent coordination, communication, and leadership skills for managing multiple stakeholders and site interfaces.
