R&D Technician- Capsules Production

Position Overview

• Location: Flemish region – Bornem
• Contract Type: Long-term project with potential for permanent placement
• Work Arrangement: On-site (production-linked role with minimal WFH options)

Essential Technical Skills

Core Engineering Requirements

• BSc in Electromechanical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
• Entry to mid-level (1–3 years), open to recent graduates with internship experience
• Strong mechanical focus with assembly and machine operation experience

Production Environment Expertise

Exposure to manufacturing and production processes, ideally with understanding of:

• Melting Machines – operation and troubleshooting of thermal processing equipment
• Vacuum Systems – understanding of vacuum and pressure processes
• Material Handling – conveyors and mechanical adjustments
• Washing/Cleaning Equipment – industrial cleaning systems
• Printing Systems – production printing for labeling/marking
• Quality Control – inspection and automated assurance systems

Technical Focus Areas

• Mechanical troubleshooting and repairs (primary focus)
• Process understanding of capsule production workflows
• Preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment
• Basic process engineering support (software/electrical are secondary)

Primary Technical Responsibilities

• Conduct trials and measurements with production equipment
• Build, adapt, and modify test setups for optimization
• Evaluate test results and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
• Execute process-related testing protocols and reporting
• Monitor long-term trials and equipment performance
• Carry out basic laboratory maintenance and cleaning tasks

Tools & Systems

• Standard PC proficiency
• SAP experience desirable
• Awareness of chemical safety protocols advantageous

Essential Soft Skills

Communication & Languages

• Dutch/Flemish: Fluent (mandatory)
• English: Nice to have
• French: Not required
