In the continuing growth of our company and the pursuit of operational excellence, we are looking for a Technical Director to fill in an internal move.


Role

As Head of Technical department / Technical Director, you will assume full technical responsibility across all project phases – from design an contracting to construction and the post-delivery care. You will lead the technical team, contribute to strategic decision-making and ensure operational excellence across the organization.



Key Responsibilities

  • By steering your team of Project Managers, you hold end-to-end accountability for:
  • Execution design and tender documentation
  • Finalization of general contracting agreements, including value engineering
  • Construction execution and handing-over
  • Post-construction aftercare and client support
  • Conduct technical due diligence and (building) cost estimation for new acquisitions based on preliminary designs
  • Represent the company in strategic inner group task forces and cross-departmental initiatives
  • Drive the implementation and monitoring of corporate strategy and operational guidelines
  • Ensure adherence to procedures that promote operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Generate added value through strategic decisions in sustainability, digitalization, and innovation, in close collaboration with other departments
  • Lead and manage the Project Management and Client Advisory team. Inspire, coach and develop this team to foster a high-performance culture



Candidate Profile

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Architecture
  • Bilingual in French and Dutch. English is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction or real estate, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role within complex constructions or developments
  • Strong leadership and strategic thinking capabilities
  • Deep understanding of the Belgian construction landscape, with a creative approach to cost and planning optimization while maintaining financial viability
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Committed to quality, results and client satisfaction
