We are seeking an accomplished and visionary SVP Translational Medicine to lead our translational science efforts, driving programs from preclinical discovery through Phase 1a/b and Phase 2/3 clinical development.
It is a strategically critical position offering the opportunity to shape the Company's therapeutic direction and strategy across an innovative pipeline.
Your role:
Strategic Leadership: Define and communicate the overall translational vision and strategy for the company's pipeline, working with senior leadership to set strategic goals.
Team Management: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of scientists, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Program Support: Lead the design, execution, and interpretation of translational and biomarker plans for drug development programs, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and regulatory requirements.
Data and Decision Making: Integrate clinical and preclinical data to inform key development decisions, including dose selection, trial design, and go/no-go decisions.
External Collaboration: Establish and manage relationships with external partners, including Contract Research Organizations, academic institutions, and strategic collaborators to access expertise and technologies.
Regulatory and Clinical Interface: Act as a key interface between research, clinical development and regulatory, and contribute to regulatory submissions.
Scientific Contribution: Represent the company as a scientific thought leader at external meetings, and contribute to the broader evolution of the company's research and development strategy.
This function reports into the CEO.
Job requirementsPhD, MD, or MD/PhD with a strong academic background and demonstrated leadership in translational science.
Deep scientific expertise in cardiometabolic diseases. Experience in neurological diseases is a plus.
15+ years of experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry, with a proven track record in translational medicine and early clinical development.
Demonstrated expertise in small molecule therapeutic modality development and integration within early drug discovery and development programmes.
Proven leadership within matrix and cross functional environments, with clear delivery of impactful translational outcomes. Inspirational leader and mentor with a passion for team development.
Excellent communication, data analysis, and strategic planning skills.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
