Technical Engineer - Systems (TECH-ENG-SYS)


YOUR ROLE:

The Technical Engineer – Systems plays an essential role in ensuring the continuing airworthiness and operational reliability of Air Belgium’s aircraft systems. This position involves assessing airworthiness data, ensuring regulatory compliance, and improving technical standards to enhance both safety and operational performance.


WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

Technical Support for Airworthiness

  • Support the Technical Management team in meeting Continuing Airworthiness requirements, focusing on aircraft systems.

Airworthiness Data Analysis

  • Analyse incoming airworthiness data, including Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), Service Letters (SLs), Safety Information Bulletins (SIBs), and other technical documentation, to assess relevance and applicability to Air Belgium’s operations.
  • Evaluate the applicability and compliance of aircraft ADs, prepare related engineering orders, task cards, and materials.

Systems Modifications & Documentation Management

  • Investigate potential aircraft systems modifications, propose solutions, and handle all related documentation and tasks (engineering orders, task cards, materials).
  • Maintain up-to-date records of modification status and control the systems Modifications Binders.
  • Ensure that modifications comply with Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) and Air Belgium’s operational needs.

Technical Investigations

  • Conduct technical investigations following occurrence reports related to aircraft systems defects or maintenance issues.

Introduction & Re-Delivery

  • Prepare systems introduction files in accordance with BCAA requirements.
  • Compile re-delivery documentation for aircraft systems, ensuring compliance with lease agreements.

Systems Monitoring and Reliability

  • Monitor and analyse trends related to systems reliability and performance, providing monthly reports.
  • Identify, analyse, and implement corrective actions for any issues found through the reliability process.

Landing Gear & Systems-Specific Management

  • Maintain landing gear (LDG) records and documentation.

Shop Visits & Representation

  • Engage with aircraft MROs during maintenance and repairs, ensuring quality control and compliance with maintenance and overhaul standards.
  • Represent Air Belgium during maintenance checks and systems shop visits when required.


WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Master’s degree in Engineering (Aeronautical, Electromechanical, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an aviation/aeronautical environment (CAMO experience is an asset).
  • Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance techniques (Airbus/Boeing experience is a plus).
  • Fluent in English (French/Dutch is a plus).
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize technical information.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • IT proficiency, including MS Office and aviation maintenance software.
