Role Overview
The consultant will work on-site, coordinating project activities, managing subcontractors, ensuring regulatory and safety compliance, and maintaining accurate documentation. The role is focused on the Belgian utilities sector, including gas, electricity, water, and telecom.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare worksites by reviewing technical requirements, planning, and resource needs.
- Coordinate ongoing projects to ensure smooth execution, timeline adherence, and quality control.
- Handle administrative follow-up including documentation, technical reporting, and records management.
- Supervise subcontractors on-site, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and contractual terms.
- Update As-Built documentation and technical drawings post-completion.
- Monitor and control project-related financials and costs.
- Actively participate in coordination meetings with contractors, stakeholders, and client teams.
Required Skills and Experience
Specific Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Site or Works Coordinator in a similar environment (Medior level).
- At least 3 years of experience managing subcontractors on technical projects.
- Experience with GPS surveys of utility networks is highly desirable.
Sector Knowledge
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the Belgian utilities sector is required.
- Familiarity with Standaardbestek 250 is preferred.
- A higher education degree (Bachelor or Master) in a technical or engineering field, or equivalent experience, is an advantage.
General Skills
- Proven experience in project planning and organization.
- At least 3 years of experience coordinating assigned projects.
- Strong communication skills, to be assessed during the interview process.
- Proficiency in Dutch at CEFR level C2 (native-level fluency in speaking and writing) is mandatory.
- Repeated validation of Dutch CEFR C2 level is preferred.
Language Requirements
- Dutch (CEFR C2) - Required at native-level proficiency in both written and spoken communication.
- French and/or English - Considered an asset.

- Ability to effectively coordinate multiple stakeholders and subcontractors.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and results-driven approach.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and reporting skills.
Conditions and Compliance
- The consultant will operate under a framework agreement and will remain an independent external contractor, with no direct employment relationship with the end client.
- Professional IT equipment will be provided.
- Strict compliance with all safety standards, confidentiality agreements, and GDPR requirements is mandatory.
