💻 Java Developer – Firefly Framework

📅 Initial 6-month contract, likely extension

We’re supporting a well-established consultancy on a long-term project for a leading organisation in the financial or banking sector. They are now looking to bring in an experienced Java Developer with hands-on expertise in the Firefly Framework to join the team and contribute to a critical backend platform build.

You will be joining a technically mature team working within a regulated environment. The scope of the project is broad and will likely touch on areas such as transaction processing, backend integration with core banking systems, and data security.

What we’re looking for:

• Strong experience with Java (8 or above)

• Proven hands-on knowledge of the Firefly Framework, particularly in building lightweight, high-performance web services

• Familiarity with JAX-RS, RESTful API design, and microservice architecture

• Experience with dependency injection (e.g. Guice, Spring), especially with Firefly

• Good understanding of asynchronous processing, non-blocking I/O, and reactive patterns

• Comfortable working in agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams

• Exposure to cloud-native environments (AWS/GCP) or containerised deployments (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus
