Senior Data Engineer | Banking & Digital Solutions

50% on site and 50% working from home

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Banking client in Brussels. You will play a pivotal role in delivering business-driven digital solutions and high-impact dashboards.

You will step into a data environment where your primary goal is to bridge the gap between staging and visualization. Your focus will be on federating data and optimizing the Alteryx flows that power our corporate reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply clean coding principles to enhance legacy Alteryx workflows, removing redundancies and improving maintainability.
• Rationalise the coexistence of SAS and Alteryx by migrating useful transformations into consistent, modern Alteryx logic.
• Design and maintain reusable Alteryx macros to centralize transformation patterns and reduce technical debt.
• Collaborate on data ingestion from various systems, ensuring high reliability, correctness, and robust monitoring.
• Support the release process by increasing automation and quality checks for faster, more predictable deployments.
• Identify obsolete datasets/workflows and harmonize retention rules to keep the data landscape lean.

Technical Essentials:

• ETL Expertise: 4-5+ years of experience with a strong background in Alteryx (or similar ETL tools).
• Database Mastery: Advanced SQL skills, specifically with Transact-SQL (T-SQL) and SQL Server.
• Versioning: Proficient with Git or SVN.
• Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with SAS.
• Familiarity with Data Visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
• Scripting knowledge in Python.
• Experience with CI/CD practices and Agile methodologies.
• Previous experience within the Banking or Financial sector

Language Skills:

• Fluent in English.
• Fluency in either Dutch or French is mandatory.
