We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to provide highly visible, customer-facing technical support and manage an on-site service contract in a leading semiconductor R&D environment.
This is a critical, hands-on role acting as the primary technical contact on site in Leuven, Belgium - Long-term contract position!
Oversee diagnosis, troubleshooting, service, and repair of platforms
Troubleshoot first-of-a-kind, unique chamber configurations
Utilise remote support from global business unit peers to resolve complex technical issues
Act as the first point of contact for hardware and process teams
Build strong working relationships internally and externally, collaborating effectively across diverse teams
Support preventive maintenance programs when required
Instruct customer personnel on system operation and maintenance
Track hours spent on non-warranty chambers to ensure compliance with the service contract
Minimum 5 years of experience in a technical field (Semiconductor or Engineering industry) and/or a relevant higher education degree (technical college or university)
Very good understanding of industry standards and best practices for service activities
Ability to independently manage day-to-day scope of work while coordinating with the local Service Section Manager
High focus on safety, quality, and compliance standards
Fluency in English, both written and spoken
