About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Freelance Electromechanical Maintenance Technician to support maintenance operations within the Food & Beverage manufacturing sector. This is a contract-based opportunity ideal for a hands-on professional with strong troubleshooting skills and experience working in high-speed production environments.

You will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing electromechanical systems to ensure optimal production efficiency and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems and automation equipment
• Maintain conveyors, pumps, motors, filling machines, packaging lines, and refrigeration systems
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency maintenance calls
• Maintain accurate service and maintenance records
• Support equipment installation, commissioning, and upgrades
• Ensure adherence to health & safety regulations at all times

Requirements

• Proven experience in electromechanical maintenance within the Food & Beverage industry
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, motors, sensors, drives, and PLCs
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Experience with automated production and packaging lines
• Relevant technical qualification (Electrical / Mechanical / Mechatronics)
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Flexible availability (including shift work if required)
• Own tools and transport (preferred)

Preferred Skills

• Experience with HACCP and GMP environments
• Knowledge of VSDs, servo systems, and industrial automation
• Welding and fabrication skills
• Multi-skilled maintenance background
