Microsoft 365 System Engineer – Interior Design and Construction Industry

Our client, an international organisation within the Interior Design and Construction Industry, is seeking a Microsoft 365 System Engineer to join their global IT function. This role focuses on the optimisation, security, and integration of Microsoft 365 and hybrid infrastructure environments across a multi-site international footprint. The position reports directly to the Managing Director and requires relocation to Belgium.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage Microsoft 365 solutions including Exchange Online, Teams, and OneDrive within a complex production environment.
• Administer and optimise Azure AD / Entra ID, including Conditional Access Policies and identity governance frameworks.
• Oversee and maintain Active Directory environments (on-premises and hybrid), ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
• Develop and enforce Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to ensure compliance and standardisation across the enterprise.
• Lead endpoint management initiatives using tools such as Intune, SCCM, or similar enterprise platforms to ensure device compliance and security posture.
• Automate administrative and operational processes through PowerShell scripting and other relevant tools to enhance efficiency and scalability.
• Support and integrate hybrid cloud environments, ensuring seamless connectivity between Microsoft 365 and on-premises infrastructure.
• Configure and manage core infrastructure components including servers, storage, and virtualised environments.
• Monitor system performance, proactively identify risks, and implement robust remediation strategies.
• Provide Tier 3 technical support and serve as an escalation point within the IT function.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver infrastructure projects aligned to business growth and digital transformation objectives.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Microsoft 365 System Engineering or similar enterprise infrastructure role.
• Proven hands-on experience managing Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive) in a production environment.
• Strong expertise in Active Directory (on-premises and hybrid), Azure AD / Entra ID, and Conditional Access frameworks.
• Advanced PowerShell scripting capabilities for automation and systems administration.
• Solid experience with endpoint management tools such as Intune, SCCM, or Ivanti.
• Exposure to virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware) and enterprise storage environments.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and infrastructure integration.
• Fluency in English and Dutch (spoken and written) is essential.
• Demonstrated ability to operate effectively within a structured, collaborative, and high-performance IT environment.

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Relevant Microsoft or infrastructure certifications will be advantageous.
