We are currently looking for an experienced Data Engineering Consultant with a strong background in Azure Databricks to contribute to a large-scale data platform program in Belgium.

About the role :

In this role, you will play a key part in designing and building Azure-based data platforms that support advanced analytics and operational use cases. Working closely with architects, analysts, and business stakeholders, you will transform raw data into reliable, high-value datasets.

You will take ownership of data pipelines and processing frameworks, applying best practices in cloud engineering, automation, and data quality to ensure scalable and resilient solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

• Education: Master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
• Languages: Fluent in ( French or Dutch ) and English (spoken and written)
• Experience: Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in data engineering roles
• Azure Platform: Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Synapse or similar services
• Azure Databricks: Extensive hands-on experience developing data pipelines and analytics workloads in Databricks
• Spark / PySpark: Proven expertise in distributed data processing using Spark
• SQL: Advanced SQL skills, including performance tuning and working with large-scale datasets
• Data Reliability: Experience implementing data validation, monitoring, and quality controls
• Soft Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in client-facing, cross-functional teams

Preferred Skills :

• Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data platforms
• Experience with streaming or event-driven architectures (e.g., Event Hubs, Kafka)
• Experience in multi-cloud environments
• Microsoft Azure or Databricks certifications

What You’ll Do :

Solution Design & Delivery

• Translate business requirements into scalable Azure data
• Build, test, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Databricks and Spark
• Ensure data pipelines are reliable, secure, and optimized for performance

Platform & Data Engineering

• Design analytical data models supporting reporting and advanced analytics
• Integrate structured and semi-structured data from multiple sources
• Apply best practices for data governance, monitoring, and cost control

Innovation & Improvement

• Continuously evaluate new Azure and Databricks features to improve platform efficiency
• Contribute to internal best practices and technical standards within Exsolvæ

Team & Project Collaboration

• Work alongside data scientists, engineers, and architects to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Support project delivery from initial design through production rollout
