We are looking for an experienced
Commissioning Lead (Electrical or Mechanical)
to support the delivery of a large-scale data centre project.
This role will take responsibility for driving commissioning activities from L1 through L5 and Integrated Systems Testing (IST), ensuring systems are delivered safely, compliantly, and in line with programme milestones.
Key Responsibilities Lead commissioning activities across
electrical or mechanical systems Manage L1–L5 commissioning processes through to IST and client handover Review and approve commissioning scripts, method statements, and ITPs Coordinate vendors, subcontractors, and specialist commissioning teams Oversee functional performance testing and integrated systems testing Ensure QA/QC compliance and full document completion Track commissioning progress and manage tag closure (Red / Yellow / Green) Attend coordination and client progress meetings Support programme and risk management during commissioning phase
Required Experience Proven experience as a
Commissioning Lead / Commissioning Manager
within data centres or other mission-critical environments Strong understanding of either: Electrical systems
(MV/LV, UPS, generators, switchgear, protection systems), or Mechanical systems
(HVAC, chilled water, CRAH/CRAC, cooling towers, pumps, BMS integration) Experience delivering hyperscale or colocation data centre projects Strong knowledge of L1–L5 commissioning and IST processes Excellent contractor coordination and stakeholder management skills
Desirable Hyperscale experience (AWS, Microsoft, Google, Meta etc.) Engineering background (Electrical or Mechanical) Familiarity with commissioning platforms such as Compass, BIM 360, Procore
