Position: R&D Manager

We are looking for an experienced R&D Manager to lead our Research & Development department and drive innovation across our product lines. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent project management skills, capable of guiding a team of engineers and technicians while ensuring high standards of quality, efficiency, and compliance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of 4 R&D professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and performance follow‑up.
  • Lead the R&D meetings, ensuring alignment on priorities, progress tracking, and problem‑solving.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of R&D projects, from concept to validation and industrialization.
  • Ensure effective project tracking, including timelines, deliverables, risks, and resource allocation.
  • Prepare clear and structured reporting directly to the Management.
  • Conduct cost analysis per project, ensuring budget control and optimization.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Production, and Regulatory teams to ensure compliance with medical device standards (including ISO 13485, MDASAP and MDR regulations).
  • Drive continuous improvement within the R&D department, fostering innovation and operational excellence.

 

 

 

Profile & Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in R&D roles within the medical device industry or a related technical field.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a multidisciplinary team.
  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies and reporting tools.
  • Experience in cost analysis, budgeting, and resource planning.
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485, MDSAP and MDR regulations is important for ensuring compliance and supporting product development activities.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; French or Dutch is a plus.
  • Problem‑solving mindset, strategic thinking, and a hands‑on approach.
