Strategic Sourcing Manager

The role is with a multinational & multi-industry manufacturing company, with exceptionally high employee retention rate and sits within one of their chemical business units.

The role is based in Belgium and you would be working in a small, close team. The ideal candidate is a highly driven, entrepreneurial professional who has an understanding of large, complex environments but can equally feel comfortable in small teams with higher levels of ambiguity and autonomy. The position will be responsible for both strategy and some day-to-day grounded topics, combining strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.

In this role, you will:

• Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing for the European division, defining sourcing strategies, establishing policies, and driving initiatives to secure the best quality, value, and reliability across products and services.
• Assess, negotiate, and manage vendor relationships, including evaluating suppliers, setting terms and conditions, consolidating vendor portfolios, and analysing total cost of ownership to support business goals.
• Manage supplier performance and oversee key contracts, ensuring service levels are met, resolving issues quickly, implementing improvement plans, and collaborating with internal teams to maintain a stable, cost-effective supply base.
• Lead and develop a geographically dispersed sourcing team, providing clear direction, strengthening capability, and fostering engagement, ownership, and high performance across multiple locations.

This role is hybrid, with 3 days in the office. Travel requirement is approximately 20–30% (happy to discuss further).
