Citrix System Engineer (Freelance/CDI)

Service Description

The Citrix System Engineer will join the Group Server Team - Windows, a team of 6 professionals.

This is an operator-level role (not an architect position), focused primarily on the daily operational management of Windows and Citrix environments.

Scope of Responsibilities

80% Windows – 20% Citrix

• Provide second-level support, handling incidents escalated from the helpdesk.
• Investigate user issues and infrastructure-related problems.
• Ensure operational stability and troubleshoot incidents across Citrix and Windows Server environments.
• Maintain a highly available, secure, and stable server infrastructure.
• Collaborate closely with team members to ensure service continuity and quality.

Mandatory Skills (Must Have)

Citrix (Medior Level)

Experience operating highly available environments including:

• Virtual Apps & Desktops
• Delivery Controllers
• StoreFront
• Workspace App
• Director
• Studio
• Profile Management
• NetScaler (on-premises)

Windows Server (Medior Level)

• Windows Server 2016–2025

Languages

• Native French or Dutch
• Must understand French, Dutch, and English

Additional Core Knowledge

• Strong networking fundamentals
• Strong security principles

• Citrix certifications (CCA-V, CCA-AppDS)
• Active Directory
• MS Exchange
• MS SCOM / MS SCCM
• VMware vSphere ESX
• Advanced PowerShell
• NetApp storage (L1–L2)
• PRTG monitoring
• Anti-malware tools (Trend Micro Deep Security, ScanMail, MailMarshal, TMCM)
• German language is a plus

Additional Information

• Hybrid work model: 2–3 days on-site per week
• Occasional travel to Berlin (max. 2 days/month, reimbursed)
