We are supporting a global enterprise software provider in Europe that is expanding its Mainframe Consulting / Client Services team.

This is a customer-facing consulting role for an experienced IBM Mainframe specialist who brings strong technical depth together with the ability to advise, influence, and deliver real value to enterprise customers.

What you’ll work on

You will act as a trusted technical advisor for customers running mission-critical IBM Mainframe environments, with a primary focus on Db2 for z/OS.

Your work will span:

• Performance analysis and tuning
• Database administration and architecture
• Technical consulting, demos, and proofs of concept
• Supporting software adoption across complex enterprise environments

Key areas of expertise

• Db2 for z/OS – strong hands-on experience (performance, administration, architecture)
• Tools supporting Db2 for z/OS (performance monitoring, DB administration, diagnostics)
• Willingness to learn additional mainframe data management solutions (e.g. Datacom)
• Exposure to or interest in modern mainframe integration, such as:
• Zowe / Open Mainframe Project
• REST APIs and hybrid integration patterns

What you’ll be responsible for

• Supporting account teams in technical qualification of solutions
• Understanding customer environments and translating needs into clear solution designs
• Delivering presentations, demonstrations, installations, configurations, deployments, and POCs
• Leading complex technical discussions early in the customer decision process
• Acting as a subject-matter expert across multi-country customer engagements
• Providing technical leadership during trials and complex implementations
• Feeding customer insights back into internal teams to drive continuous improvement

Requirements

• 8+ years of IBM Mainframe experience
• Strong expertise in Db2 for z/OS
• Experience working directly with customers or presales/consulting teams
• Fluent English (spoken and written)
• Professional French is strongly preferred
• Bachelor’s degree (minimum)

• Geographic scope: multi-country / European
• Travel: approximately 25-30%
• Senior individual contributor role (no direct people management)
• Works with minimal supervision and high autonomy
