PURPOSE OF THE ROLE :

As a SENIOR TECHNICAL PURCHASER, you play a key role in securing the technical and commercial success of Verdon’s EPC and industrial piping projects. You are responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and developing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and optimizing purchasing processes in collaboration with engineering, project management, and quality teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

A. Technical & Operational Purchasing

• Manage end-to-end purchasing for technical equipment, piping components, industrial materials, and subcontracted services.
• Analyse project specifications and challenge technical requirements with the Engineering Department.
• Prepare RFQ packages, evaluate offers, and lead negotiations.
• Ensure cost optimization, risk mitigation, and alignment with project planning.

B. Supplier Sourcing & Validation

• Identify, evaluate, and source suppliers aligned with EPC project needs.
• Conduct supplier qualification audits.
• Maintain and develop a performant supplier base in Belgium and internationally.

C. Supplier Development & Continuous Improvement

• Drive supplier performance improvement initiatives.
• Lead supplier performance reviews and development roadmaps.

D. Contracting & Contract Negotiation

• Draft, analyse, and negotiate purchasing contracts.
• Negotiate key commercial terms.
• Ensure alignment with EPC project requirements.

E. Supply Chain Planning

• Align procurement schedules with project milestones.
• Anticipate supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Monitor delivery performance and logistics coordination.

F. Supplier Quality Management

• Work with QA/QC to resolve non-conformities.
• Monitor compliance with industrial standards.

G. Data Management & ERP Systems

• Ensure purchasing data integrity in the ERP system.
• Analyse procurement KPIs and generate reports.
• Support digitalization of procurement processes.

H. AI & Digital Mindset

• Leverage AI tools for supplier screening and risk detection.
• Promote a data-driven and digital-first culture.
• Identify opportunities to integrate AI in procurement workflows.

PROFILE & REQUIREMENTS :

• Education : Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanics, or related field.
• Languages : Mother Tongue French with a very good knowledge of English
• Experience :

Minimum 5–8 years of experience in technical purchasing within industrial B2B environments.

Experience with supplier sourcing, qualification, and development.

Proven experience in contract negotiation and purchasing strategy.
