Lead Python Developer

On behalf of our client operating in the energy sector, we are recruiting a Technical Lead specialized in Python for a long-term assignment.

As a Lead Python Developer, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership in backend and data engineering within trading product squads, ensuring secure, high-performance solutions while guiding teams, collaborating with stakeholders, and shaping architectural decisions.

Tasks:

Here are the main tasks that we’ll be involved in:

• Provide technical leadership in backend and data engineering, including architecture and microservices design.
• Mentor developers and ensure adherence to engineering, quality, and security standards.
• Design, build, optimize, deploy, and maintain robust, high-performance trading systems.
• Gather and analyze requirements with Product Owners and stakeholders to shape solutions.
• Plan, break down, and oversee delivery tasks while supporting team members.
• Collaborate cross-functionally in an agile, distributed environment to ensure stable operations and business success.

Profile:

• You have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in backend or data engineering roles, with strong expertise in Python (v3), Kubernetes, and AWS cloud architecture. Ideally, you hold a university degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• You have demonstrated experience in technical leadership or senior individual contributor roles, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• You have a good understanding of networking and cybersecurity.
• Having 3–5 years of experience in electronic or algorithmic trading, with strong knowledge of financial products (futures, options, forwards, swaps, etc.) and the trade lifecycle, is a plus.
