VERDON is an established and fast‑growing EPC contractor specialized in industrial projects, complex piping systems, and highly technical environments such as process utilities, energy, pharma, and data center infrastructures. In order to support our growth and accelerate the digital transformation of our engineering activities, we are recruiting a highly skilled Head of Design to lead our design delivery operations across several disciplines.

MISSION & PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

As Head of Design, your primary mission is to execute, coordinate, and secure the production of all design deliverables—from early IFC packages to as-built dossiers. You will supervise the complete production flow of drawings, 3D models, technical details, QA reviews, document revisions, and the alignment between engineering, construction, and fabrication needs.

Your role goes beyond managing designers: you are the architect of the Design Delivery Factory, ensuring reliability, productivity, and technical consistency across all deliverables, both onshore and offshore.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

1. Leadership of the Design Delivery Function

• Lead, structure, and organize the design office across piping, HVAC, and MEP disciplines.
• Provide technical coaching and promote a culture of constructibility and quality.

2. Ownership of Engineering Deliverables

• Guarantee the on-time delivery of all engineering documents (IFR, IFD, IFC, as-built).
• Validate 3D models, drawings, isometrics, support layouts, and construction details.

3. Production Flow Management

• Build and maintain detailed weekly workload plans and project backlogs.
• Prioritize activities according to project milestones and risk exposure.

4. Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

• Implement quality gates, checklists, and review processes.
• Reduce rework through standardization and root-cause analysis.

5. Offshore Team Steering

• Organize work packages and instructions for offshore production teams.
• Conduct daily/weekly alignment rituals and QA performance checks.

6. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Collaborate with PM, Construction, Prefab/Module Shop, BIM Lead, QA/QC teams.
• Support constructibility workshops and interdisciplinary reviews.

7. KPI Management & Reporting

• Monitor productivity, rework rates, offshore performance, and on-time delivery KPIs.

PROFILE :

• Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electromechanical, HVAC/Piping).
• French / English
• 10–15+ years of detailed design experience with 3–7 years managing teams.
• Strong CAD/BIM 3D and document control expertise.
• Experience with onshore/offshore production and constructibility.
• Nice to have : Data Center modular design experience and engineering calculations knowledge.
