Integration Engineer

Our client in the railway industry based in Brussels is currently looking for an Integration Engineer.

Reporting to the Software Director, you perform software/software and hardware/software integration activities at system, software and software component levels.

Responsibilities

• I define a strategy for software/software and hardware/software integration activities.
• I produce integration test specification.
• I write automated integration test campaigns.
• I maintain integration platforms and tools.
• I propose new integration technologies to be used and deployed.
• I am the counterpart of the development team to help the maturation of software.
• I actively participate to design and prototyping sessions.
• I am based in Brussels, Belgium.

Profile

• I have a Master degree in Software Engineering/Computer Science.
• I have 3+ years experience in delivering projects with software/hardware interactions and I can demonstrate a first experience in the field.
• I am familiar with network protocol.
• I am familiar with hardware architectures and related techniques (CPU, real-time systems, configuration, etc.).
• I am familiar with the requirements for developing critical software products, ideally in railway, and have ideally participated in such development.
• I am a hacker at heart — born with a keyboard in your hands, comfortable navigating any codebase.
• I enjoy going hands-on when needed and value competence above all, whatever the task.
• I am a team player, open to discussion and ready to admit when a teammate has a better idea.
• Fluency in French and English is required. Knowledge of any other European language is a plus.

Role activities

You perform hardware software integration activities at system, software and software component levels.

• You produce integration test specification that includes:
  • a definition of the test environment
  • a strategy to integrate software components.
  • a strategy to integrate software with the hardware platform.
• You define and configure the hardware platform.
• You write automated integration campaigns.
• You maintain integration platform and tools.
• You propose new integration technologies to be used and deployed.
• You actively participate to design and prototyping sessions.

Contract: Freelance

Start date: ASAP

Duration: 12 months contract + extension
