Your role & work environment

We are looking for an Enterprise IT Architect with experience or a broad interest, especially in the areas of Data and Analytics (including AI and GenAI). The focus of your architecture activities will be to establish resilient enterprise architectures for business and IT problems in line with the ING Belgium and Group.

Our job purpose is to translate business and tech vision and strategy into effective enterprise architectures by creating, communicating and improving the key principles and architectural stories and models that describe the future state and enable its evolution to deliver the IT Architecture for the organization and its customers.

You will work within the ING Belgium Tech department in the Centre of Expertise (CoE) Architecture. You will closely collaborate with the engineering community and the local and ING Group architecture community. You will be supported by a chapter lead focussing on your professional evolution and a lead architect focussing on the content of the domains you are working in.

Your key responsibilities

The enterprise architect

  • Executes the global Business & IT Roadmap process, with centralised designs and (logical) global decompositions.
  • Will work with a (virtual) team of domain and solution architects, both in a local and a global ING context. Key stakeholders outside the architecture community are both local and global Business and IT leadership: Product (Area) Leads and IT (Area) Leads.
  • Draft, communicate and get approval for your IT architecture solution designs towards the target state, and applies global standards and solutions where possible.
  • Drafts architectural roadmaps (logical sequence of steps), monitors and manages the progress of the execution of Business & IT-Roadmaps towards the target state.

As an Architect, you will also need:

  • University / Postgraduate (Master's Degree).
  • At least 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • In-depth affinity with the architecture practice.
  • A TOGAF, ArchiMate and/or Public Cloud (GCP / Azure) certifications will be a plus.
  • Broad interest and knowledge, especially in the areas of Data and Analytics. This includes Data Management, Data Governance, Data Technology as well as the broad domain of analytics, including all flavours of AI: GenAI, Composite AI, Agentic AI, …
  • Understanding of the relevant legal and regulatory requirements underpinning and constraining the area of data and analytics (e.g. GPDR, BCBS 239, AI Act)
  • Proficient in English (ING's corporate language) and Dutch or French.
  • Behavioural competences: innovative, collaborative, communicative, manage complexity in a qualitative way.
  • Technical competences: special attention to data, privacy, security and ethics, in an autonomous way of working as go-to-person for the architects, Business and IT leadership.
