Overview

Azure Cloud professionals experienced with architecture and security to join one of our clients, based in Belgium (Mechelen).

Work model : hybrid (2 to 3 days onsite per week).

Role duration : 6 months with possible extension.

Role overview: The selected Cloud Architect & Cloud Security Specialist will be responsible for setting, managing and executing the client\'s cloud strategy in a secure and compliant manner. This includes: cloud adoption plans and cloud landing zone definition, cloud application design, cloud security and cloud management & monitoring.

The Architect oversees application architecture and deployment in cloud environments and edge environments, acting as a consultant to the client, and their IT, IT Security and Business teams – and thus needs to stay current on the latest trends and technologies in cloud, security and compliance. He/she actively shares cloud (security) knowledge through leading workshops and being a lead in a project or product design.

The Architect is responsible for defining, implementing and maintaining cloud security, in conjunction with the client\'s IT Security department. Improve the client\'s cloud security posture by implementing and maintaining security solutions and implement and maintain hardening, logging, monitoring, security scanning, etc.

The architectures and designs defined and governed by the Architect take into account not only the technical design of the various (cloud) components, but also information security in relation to data confidentiality and GDPR, availability and disaster recovery, monitoring, support and cost.

Responsibilities

• Cloud Design & Architecture: Oversee cloud related environment (development of cloud infrastructure and solutions, includes cyber security, life cycle, patching, retention, DR, ..); Responsible for architectural design and reviews; Responsible for cloud security (in alignment with client\'s IT Security); Collaborate with the business to design cloud applications; Present and defend designs in both business language to management and in technical language to peers and third parties; Leads and guides the cloud engineers and third-party teams and developers for planning, designing and implementing cloud solutions with best practices with a security-first mindset.
• Cloud Implementation: Responsible for Landing Zone and cloud solution setup and maintenance through DevOps and IaC principles; Responsible for hardened golden templates for setting up cloud platform, infrastructure, and applications; Responsible for reviewing and maintaining IaC templates and code, using version control and DevOps best practices; Keep the cloud platform updated; Align with client\'s IT Security on maintaining a secure cloud environment and implement and maintain cloud security solutions; Implement and maintain cloud hardening; Responsible for the documentation of the environment/platform.
• Cloud Security: Develop, implement, and maintain a Cloud security strategy and cloud governance framework aligned with our client\'s IT security team; Mature client\'s cloud security landscape and improve security posture by managing cloud security solutions, apply IaC and hardening according to various standards, including CIS; Ensure compliance of the cloud landscape with NIS2 and ISO27001 principles; Identify, assess, and manage cloud risks; develop and implement risk mitigation strategies; Manage cloud security events and incidents, including conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in cloud engineering
• Microsoft Azure experience
• Understanding of IT security, cloud, and software development
• Ability to identify, assess, and manage ICT risks
• Experience in conducting risk assessments and audits
• IT Infrastructure experience (security, network, ...)
• English fluency is mandatory
• Dutch fluency (nice to have)
