Commis Chef


Appenzell, Switzerland

We are seeking a talented and adaptable Chef de Partie, Commis Chef and Breakfast Chef de Patisserie to join our culinary team in the scenic Appenzellerland, supporting our 3-star, 4-star, and newly opening 5-star hotels with intentions to reach Michelin star status. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a first-class resort environment with two international hotel brands.

You will work in a small team of chefs, managing your own section and stepping in to support or cover other areas when colleagues are on holiday — so we need a true all-rounder with the versatility to handle a range of kitchen tasks.

Salary & Benefits

  • CHF 4,700 – 4,900 gross per month, plus a 13th salary

Main Tasks

  • Accept daily delivered food in compliance with internal goods acceptance guidelines
  • Manage your own station, prepare and cook required dishes
  • Support the team at other stations as needed
  • Organise operations to ensure smooth service
  • Carry out mise en place work to a high standard
  • Use food cost-consciously and avoid waste
  • Handle all kitchen materials and utensils with care
  • Work closely with the Demi Chef de Partie, Commis de Cuisine, and trainees
  • Comply with cleanliness, safety, and hygiene guidelines (HACCP)

Your Profile

  • Completed culinary training; initial experience in upscale gastronomy is an advantage
  • Good knowledge of European cuisine
  • Flexible with working hours and able to adapt to changing needs
  • Independent, hygienic, and precise work style
  • English at B2 level or higher; German is a plus but not essential
  • Calm and professional under pressure, even during busy service
