About the Project

We are supporting a major high-voltage infrastructure project in Belgium. The assignment involves the design, construction, and commissioning of new substation systems as part of a large-scale network upgrade. The project will enhance grid capacity and reliability to support industrial and regional energy needs.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Freelance High-Voltage Electrical Engineer to provide technical expertise on substation systems. This is a remote/hybrid role supporting a critical infrastructure programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise on substation systems
• Review and validate electrical designs, studies, and technical documentation
• Support grid connection and coordination with network operators
• Ensure compliance with relevant electrical standards and regulations
• Contribute to technical decision-making and risk assessments
• Provide remote support to project and engineering teams

Requirements

• Proven experience on high-voltage substation projects
• Previous project experience in Belgium or the Netherlands (mandatory)
• Experience in large infrastructure or mission-critical environments
• Fluent Dutch speaker
• Freelance/independent consultant status
• Availability for 2 days per week (remote)
