Position: Director, Human Resources, Global Office
As the Director of Human Resources (HR), you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the HR agenda for the Global Office. Reporting to the Global Head of People & Culture, you will be responsible for driving strategic initiatives that support our long‑term organizational priorities, while also overseeing and executing key operational HR activities that ensure a consistent, high‑quality employee experience.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with senior leadership to translate business objectives into effective HR strategies. At the same time, you will maintain hands‑on involvement in core HR processes, ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and timely support to leaders and employees across the Global Office.
Strategic Responsabilities
- Partner with the Global Head of People & Culture to develop and implement HR strategies that support the Global Office’s objectives and future growth.
- Lead strategic talent initiatives, including workforce planning, organizational design, leadership development, learning & growth, performance management, and inclusion & diversity.
- Strengthen organizational effectiveness by driving initiatives that enhance engagement, build capability, and reinforce our culture and values.
- Act as a trusted advisor to leaders, providing strategic guidance on people‑related matters and helping them build high‑performing teams.
- Leverage workforce and market insights to inform decision‑making and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support the integration of HR technology solutions that enhance service delivery, streamline processes, and enable data‑driven decision‑making.
- Anticipate HR‑related risks and develop proactive mitigation approaches that support business continuity and compliance.
Operational Responsibilities
- Oversee the annual remuneration cycle, including salary reviews, bonus processes, and related communications and approvals.
- Conduct compensation benchmarking and analysis, ensuring internal consistency, external competitiveness, and clear recommendations to leadership.
- Manage individual employee relations matters, including performance issues, workplace concerns, conflict management, and policy interpretation.
- Develop, update, and maintain HR policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and BDO standards.
- Provide operational HR support throughout the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, contractual changes, and offboarding.
- Support talent acquisition processes when needed, including job profile reviews, candidate screening, interviews, and selection activities.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of HR data and reporting, working closely with internal stakeholders to support informed workforce decisions.
- Partner with the HR team to ensure consistency and quality in HR service delivery and operational processes.
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop the Global Office HR and L&D team, ensuring strong collaboration, high professional standards, and alignment with BDO’s values and culture.
- Foster a learning‑oriented environment that supports continuous improvement and operational excellence within the HR function.
Qualifications
- Excellent command of English, both spoken and written; knowledge of Dutch and/or Frenchwould be an asset;
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in HR, including experience leading a team and/or function.Experience in a global organization is preferred.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of global employment-related laws, employee relations and risk management issues in a professional services environment.
- Exhibit strong business acumen, augmented by a keen understanding of prevailing industry trends, facilitating the ability to proactively navigate and align HR strategies with broader business objectives.
- Collaborative and constructive when working with clients and colleagues and always seeks to improve processes.
- Possess a demonstrated ability to exert influence and cultivate partnerships with stakeholders across all organizational levels, underscoring your aptitude for building meaningful relationships that contribute to the overall success of the organization.
- Strong strategic thinking/planning experience with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills; coaching and mentoring skills; commitment to ongoing development of self and others; and being a consistent role model and champion of BDO values and culture
- Strong portfolio management and change management skills
- Strong decision-making skills and ability to exercise professional judgment.
