Job Title: Group Controller

Location: Ghent, Belgium (4 days/week on-site)

Salary: Up to €170,000 + bonus and equity potential

About the Company

We are a high-growth, PE-backed multi-site business headquartered in Ghent, pursuing an ambitious buy-and-build strategy across Europe. With multiple acquisitions already completed and more in the pipeline, we are scaling rapidly and seeking a commercially driven Group Controller to serve as a financial backbone of the group, supporting M&A integration, financial reporting, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Group Financial Control: Lead group-wide financial consolidation, reporting, and analysis across multiple entities and countries.
• M&A Integration: Act as finance lead in onboarding newly acquired businesses, including aligning reporting structures and systems.
• Business Partnering: Partner with Group CFO, FP&A, and country MDs to drive financial transparency and performance.
• Process & Systems Improvement: Standardize and optimize financial processes and controls across the group, working toward shared service or ERP integration where relevant.
• Compliance & Audit: Ensure robust compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and audit preparedness.
• Team Leadership: Build and mentor a small but growing finance team with potential for expansion as the group scales

Qualifications & Experience

• Qualified accountant (e.g., CPA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
• 8+ years in group or senior financial control roles, ideally in a multi-entity or multi-country setting
• Experience in Private Equity-backed or fast-scaling businesses is highly preferred
• Strong track record supporting M&A integration, systems harmonization, and group consolidation
• Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch or French is a plus
• Hands-on, detail-oriented, and resilient in high-change environments
