Senior Construction Manager
Location: Site-based, Belgium, Germany
Sector: Energy / Infrastructure
Overview
Our international client is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Construction Manager to support the successful delivery of a large-scale 80MW DC infrastructure project. This position will operate as an extension of the project owner's team, providing leadership and oversight across multiple construction workstreams.
The role is critical to ensuring contractors deliver in line with programme, quality expectations, health & safety standards, and commissioning requirements. This is a site-focused leadership role requiring strong coordination, commercial awareness, and stakeholder management capability.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Coordination
Lead and support a team of Construction Package Managers across multiple scopes of work
Delegate effectively while maintaining accountability for performance and delivery
Encourage a collaborative, solution-focused environment across the site team
Construction Management
Oversee daily construction activities and track progress against agreed milestones
Identify risks, programme delays, and technical challenges, driving timely resolution
Ensure contractor performance aligns with contractual obligations and project standards
Quality & Commissioning Interface
Work closely with quality teams to support inspections, audits, and close-out processes
Coordinate with commissioning leads to ensure construction sequencing supports energisation and handover milestones
Enable smooth transition from construction to commissioning phases
Health & Safety
Promote a strong safety culture across all contractors and site personnel
Monitor compliance with regulatory and project-specific HSE requirements
Participate in safety walks, reviews, and incident investigations as required
Stakeholder Engagement
Act as a key interface between the project owner and delivery contractors
Maintain transparent communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Build strong working relationships to drive alignment and accountability
Reporting
Provide clear, structured progress updates and dashboards
Escalate risks and key issues in a timely and professional manner
Present updates to senior stakeholders with clarity and confidence
Candidate Profile
Significant experience in large-scale infrastructure, energy, or mission-critical construction projects
Proven ability to manage multiple contractors and work packages concurrently
Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
Demonstrable commitment to health, safety, and quality standards
Experience working in owner's representative or client-side roles is advantageous
