Process Engineer

Drive wet process performance. Own tool sign-off. Be the technical bridge between fab and global R&D.
Are you a process engineer who enjoys being close to the tool, close to the customer, and close to the real problem? Do you want a role where you're trusted to bring wet cleaning processes into production, solve integration challenges, and influence future technology — rather than just monitor SPC charts?
We're hiring a Process Engineer (Wet Cleaning) for a leading semiconductor equipment manufacturer supporting a major advanced-device customer in the Leuven and wider BeNeLux region. The business is globally established across Europe, Asia and the US, with strong technology depth in wet processing, lithography tracks and thermal solutions.
This hire strengthens the on-site process team, supporting new tool start-ups, improving process stability, and acting as the technical interface between the customer and global engineering teams.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead wet cleaning equipment start-ups through to formal tool sign-off in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Optimise existing production processes, driving measurable improvements in performance, stability and yield.
Troubleshoot complex process issues using structured root-cause methodologies (FMEA, 8D, DOE).
Translate evolving device requirements into actionable process adaptations in collaboration with global R&D and process technology teams.
Work closely with field service engineers to improve equipment performance and long-term reliability.
Communicate technical challenges and development opportunities back to factory engineering and technology centres.
What You Bring
A degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or Materials Engineering.
Experience within semiconductor manufacturing, ideally with exposure to wet cleaning or adjacent process modules.
Strong analytical capability — comfortable working with data, trends and structured problem-solving tools.
Confidence operating in a customer-facing environment within a production fab.
Clear communication skills in English, with Dutch heavily desirable.
Travel is occasional and primarily for training or coordination with global teams.
Why This Role?
Be the process authority at the customer site during critical tool introductions.
Work at the intersection of production, process development and global R&D.
Influence how equipment performs in real manufacturing conditions — not just in theory.
Join a technically strong, international organisation with long-term development pathways in either specialist or leadership directions.
If you're motivated by solving real process challenges, improving wet module performance, and working at the heart of semiconductor manufacturing — this is a role worth discussing.
