The Opportunity

We are looking for a Policy Officer with at least two to three years of experience in EU chemicals or environmental regulation who is enthusiastic about connecting science, industry and policy. In this role, you will be at the centre of FPG's analytical, regulatory and technical work - translating complex information into clear positions, coordinating expert input, and supporting impactful advocacy.

You will work closely with the Director of the Product Group and member companies, becoming a trusted contributor to the technical backbone of our advocacy and communication activities.

What You'll Do

• Follow draft legislation, regulatory proposals and scientific assessments, support identifying impacts for fluoropolymers and their applications.
• Support the development of science-based industry positions, by gathering technical input from experts and helping translate this into clear, accessible messages for policymakers and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with leading technical experts and service providers to assist with the development of materials such as factsheets, case studies, Q&A documents, and to manage studies, surveys, or expert task forces.
• Support activities and information-sharing with related sectors in the value chain and contribute to fostering cross-sectoral collaboration to address common challenges and opportunities in policy and innovation.
• Organise and follow up FPG working groups and technical subgroups (agendas, minutes, issue tracking and document management).

What You Bring

• At least 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in policy and public affairs related to EU chemicals or environmental policy, technical regulations, or sustainability within the public sector, industry, trade associations, or consultancies.
• Strong academic background such as a master's degree in political science or in a technical domain (e.g. chemistry, chemical engineering, environmental sciences, toxicology, materials science) coupled to an affinity for policy and advocacy work. Proven ability to digest and translate scientific/technical information into structured policy analysis.
• Excellent analytical and drafting skills; fluency in English (other languages an asset).
• A collaborative mindset, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple dossiers simultaneously.
