Company Description The electricity grid is being rebuilt in real time, and batteries are at the center of it. At Gridual, we're rewriting the rules of electricity markets by bringing trading to the local level, letting every site capture its own value instead of getting lost in the portfolio. We're looking for bold, hands-on pioneers ready to take control of the grid, tear down outdated models, and build the energy future one site at a time. The role You'll be the first engineering hire at Gridual. You'll work across the full backend stack, owning real systems that control physical assets in a live market. This isn't a role for someone who wants a clear ticket queue and a comfortable lane. It's for someone who gets energy from figuring things out, moves fast without cutting corners on what matters, and wants to look back in a few years and say they built something real. What you'll work on Low-latency data pipelines feeding forecasting and real-time control systems Backend services that integrate with energy markets and partner APIs Observability and reliability for systems where downtime has real consequences The architecture decisions that will shape how we scale What you'll bring Ambition and boldness: ready to tackle complex, high-impact problems Strong software engineering skills, with Python-heavy backend experience Experience building robust, production-ready data pipelines or backend systems A hands-on, ownership mindset. You ship code fast, and are ready to leverage AI-based tools to do so Bonus points: Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, GCP) Experience with schedulers, or real-time data Energy, trading, or high-reliability domain experience Why join us? No bullshit: we're a small team acting fast Competitive compensation package including equity By building critical systems to control physical assets, your impact will be immediate and substantial Convinced?
