Workday HRIS Manager


HRIS Manager (Workday)
Employment Type: Permanent
Location: Brussels, Belgium – Hybrid
We are seeking a HRIS Manager (Workday) to lead the day-to-day operation, evolution, and continuous improvement of our Workday HR platform across multiple modules. The role manages HRIS specialists, takes application ownership, leads projects, and acts as a key interface between HR, IT, and the business. You will ensure that HR systems are stable, secure, compliant, and aligned with HR and business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Workday Operations & Solutions
Own the delivery, configuration, and operational performance of Workday modules, including Core HCM, Compensation, Talent & Performance, Recruitment, Reporting, and Integrations.
Act as escalation point for complex application issues and key decisions.
Translate HR business needs into scalable and efficient Workday solutions with high data quality and positive user experience.
Oversee testing, release management, incident, and change processes, ensuring operational excellence.
Ensure Workday security, access controls, and compliance with internal policies and data protection regulations.
Projects, Roadmap & Continuous Improvement
Lead and deliver HRIS and Workday global projects, managing timelines, risks, budgets, and dependencies.
Contribute to, maintain, and execute the Workday roadmap, coordinating releases, enhancements, and regulatory changes.
Manage dependencies with IT teams and external partners.
Monitor Workday innovations, HR technology trends, and industry best practices.
Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, automation, analytics, and user experience.
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
Lead, coach, and develop a team of HRIS specialists, fostering a collaborative and accountable culture.
Build strong relationships with HR leadership and key users, acting as a trusted advisor on HR technology.
Oversee documentation, training, communication, and adoption of new functionality.
Required Experience & Skills
Strong experience with Workday HR applications across multiple modules.
People management and project delivery experience in global environments.
Fluent in English; proficiency in French or Dutch is required.
Solid understanding of HR processes and the employee lifecycle.
Experience with Workday security, reporting, integrations, or vendor management.
Workday HCM Core certification; additional module certifications advantageous.
Balance of strategic thinking and hands-on operational leadership.
Technical Stack
Workday Core HCM, Compensation, Talent & Performance, Recruitment, Absence, Time Tracking, Workday Reporting (Standard, Advanced, Dashboards), Workday Business Process Framework, Workday Security, Workday Integrations (EIBs, Core Connectors, Web Services – SOAP & REST), Workday Extend (desirable), vendor systems integration, HRIS automation, testing and defect management tools, release management platforms.
