About the Role We are looking for a Department Manager to oversee a team and manage all operational and commercial activities for Africa‑focused freight forwarding. Key Responsibilities Team & Operational Management Lead, coach, and support a team of six operational staff Oversee execution of all Africa freight files from A to Z Ensure high‑quality, timely, compliant operational delivery Act as the go‑to person for escalations and complex operational questions Commercial & Quotation Support Prepare and validate quotations for clients Support colleagues with key account activities Work closely with the commercial team on solution design Contribute to growing the client base in a period of expansion (no cold BD required) Process, Quality & Coordination Maintain close communication with international partners Support large projects, charter operations, and door‑to‑door logistics Bring forward ideas to improve processes and team efficiency Ensure continuous alignment between operations and commercial teams Who We're Looking For 7+ years of freight forwarding experience (we're flexible if you learn fast) Strong understanding of operational freight processes Leadership mindset - able to guide and support a team Positive, enthusiastic, dynamic personality Flexible, open to change, and excited about a fast‑evolving industry Comfortable attending meetings and writing professional emails in English and French Able to handle basic conversations in Dutch Hands‑on, solution‑oriented, and not afraid to take ownership Thrives in a flat, entrepreneurial structure rather than rigid corporate hierarchies
